We have polished the app features, take a look

"Its time to throw out the babies".

When planning for the app. One should start big and bold, then start to throw a way the excess features.
the excess features will distract the user and make the app complex and hard to use.

Don't worry i won't change the main idea, just postponed it to later release.

I have filtered the features from the last post, and divide them into two major releases

First release

i will focus on building the backbone of the app, it will have common "todo" features along with some new features that i did not recognize in the app store (in coming post i will give a summary of competitor apps and how the app differ from the others)

Second release

i will build on collected information from the users "in the icloud" to help the app suggest more suitable tasks for the users, in advanced time of the app development i will make a documented features of the second release. at this time we should have a clear vision of the app development path.

For the mean time we will stick with those features and start to put the app design based on them, of course any suggestions or ideas are welcome at any time.

First release documented features

  1. It's said that you should plan your day before start it.
    1. when you wake up you will open the app and put your day activities in sequence
    2. you enter the name of activity and its expected duration, no more than that
  2. Get relieve of adjusting start and end time
    1. when you add activity, it's time will be set after the last one finish.
    2. the app will show you as you enter activities the current day states "ajax style"
      1. current day states could be
        1. task types distribution over the day, (may be categorize the tasks automatically for you)
        2. the expected start and end of the day
        3. remind you to give yourself time to rest, eat or stay with your family (as intelligent suggestions)
        4. that's enough for the user to handle, we can add more but we will distract the user :)
    3. So finished planning, now click "START DAY" button, and the app will work in background as count down timer.
  3. Important feature is ICloud which will enable you to sync
      1. Different IOS devices within the day, may be add website in advanced phase
      2. Google calendar to give you a report of your day, or a simple automatic diary
  4. During the day its hard to stick to your plan, you need to switch from plan A to plan B, and do things like
    1. swap two activities times
    2. increase or decrease some activities times by 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes
    3. pause the whole day timer
    4. insert or delete activity in the middle of the day. and update the day states without affecting the whole plan.
So, these are the major features so far. we will stick to them for the mean time.

Salam,
M.Aleem
