my "lateral thinking" session results

last post i said i will do practical lateral thinking session and in the following sections, you will find the whole session output.

The session Focus hit list

1. how to get information from the user without interruption
2. what factors to determine the proper task for a user when click on button

Use technique of concept fan
         concept fan is lateral thinking technique that start with a general direction or main concept. then from this concept, you try to generate ideas and concepts, then hack every new idea or concept as the next main focus and so on.

general direction, how to know about the user preferred tasks.

1. know about his work
2. from Facebook and Twiter or social media
3. his long term plans
4. timing of the tasks chosen
5. frequency of tasks
6. time of performing the tasks
7. his hobbies
8. enter text describing him
9. make a list to choose from
10. ask him what does he really want to do
11. give him random tasks
12. suggestions of tasks and based on accepting or rejecting the suggestions
13. about the current location
14. the task completion rate
15. task emergency or urgent tasks
16. make a intelligent server to manage the interaction

know about his work

1. ask him "what do you work"
2. extract concepts related to career category from social media
3. make him make an account

from Facebook and Twitter or social media

1. IOS api which give permission to connect with facebook
2. IOS twitter api
3. make a server to interact with intelligent system to detect behavior
4. connect to knowledge base

his long term plans

1. ask him is that a big goal
2. if a goal made frequent, it could be a habit
3. make sizes for tasks as the t-shirt sizes, S,L,XL,XXL

timing of the tasks chosen

1. give him a task based on the time this task is chosen before
2. give him a good time of day to do task of specific size

frequency of tasks

1. more frequent the task, the more important
2. the more treating it like habit

make a list of specific questions or survey to tailor the tasks

1. like a story of the man

what are the small steps i can take to suggest a task on user

1. work as to-do basic features with the new button of give me a task
2. give a task based on criteria
3. know the size of task
4. if the task is checked, its a trigger of preferred time
5. one can check task, at the end of day // ignore for now
6. A synced count down timer with basic functions of +5 -5 for the day and work in background.

These are all ideas that come to my mind during the session, you can see how i focus on one concept per time "the main headline for each list" and try to move from this concept to generate ideas and sometimes new concepts.

then take each new concept make it the main focus and start to generate ideas and new concepts in a recursive way.

in the next post i will refine the ideas, choose some of them, postpone others and decline others. and write a simple documented feature list, that will be used as our back log during the development process.
